This week's Friday Night Video follows Connor Herson on the first free ascent of Drifter's Escape, a striking line of seams high on Squamish's Stawamus Chief. Proposed at 5.15a/9a+, the route may well be the hardest trad climb in the world, combining hard 5.13 crack climbing with V11 cruxes and the added complication of doing it all above gear.
Connor climbed the route in July 2025 after two seasons of effort, but held back the announcement of one of the world's most significant trad climbs until earlier this year.
